COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS

We are excited to announce three competitions this year. There will be attractive first prize in cash for each category and More prizes will be decided by Cultural team based on availability of funds. Certificate of participation will be given to all participants.

All the teams have to be prepared to participate on both days as competition can be scheduled on either day. It will not be possible for us to schedule all three competitions on same day.

We will try to post Schedule on our website by September 19th 2010.

All the decisions by panel of Judges will be final. Cultural Team will not answer any queries on the results. Judging criteria will be announced shortly.

  1. Represent a State Competition

    2. Pick any State from India and show the interesting and unique facts about it on the stage with your creativity. Show the extents of your pride and love for any state of India of your choice with dance-drama format.

    1. We are looking for interesting details about the state that includes but not limited to dances, clothes, rituals (like weddings etc.), costumes, religious beliefs, celebrations of various events and holidays, languages, famous people etc. from that particular state
    2. The entries will be limited to 2 items per state, first come basis. Please confirm with Cultural team.
    3. The time limit or duration is 15 minutes including Prep and Prop time.
    4. All Participants above age of 6 are invited.
    5. Email cultural Team for pre-approval for the item you want to perform. Before filling form and paying the fees on the web.

  2. Classical dance medley competition for Ages 7 to 12 years

    3. Indian classical dance based on songs from Indian movies. Present a dance item that is no more than 8 minutes.

    1. The song has to be approved by the cultural team to be considered and qualified as a competition item for this category. First come First basis.
    2. Age group will be defined on the basis of oldest participant in that group.
    3. The time limit or duration is 8 minutes including Prep and Prop time.
    4. No More than 7 or 8 entries in this category will be accepted.
    5. Email cultural Team for pre-approval for the item you want to perform. Before filling form and paying the fees on the web.

  3. Classical dance medley competition for ages 13 to 18 years

    4. Indian classical dance based on songs from Indian movies. Present a dance item that is no more than 8 minutes.

  4. Folk Dance Competition for Ages 7 to 12

    1. Age group will be defined on the basis of oldest participant in that group.
    2. The time limit or duration is 8 minutes including Prep and Prop time.
    3. No More than 7 or 8 entries in this category will be accepted.
    4. Email cultural Team for pre-approval for the item you want to perform. Before filling form and paying the fees on the web.
    5. Minimum 4 participants in each team.

  5. Folk Dance Competition for Ages 13 and Up

    1. Age group will be defined on the basis of oldest participant in that group.
    2. The time limit or duration is 8 minutes including Prep and Prop time.
    3. No More than 7 or 8 entries in this category will be accepted.
    4. Email cultural Team for pre-approval for the item you want to perform. Before filling form and paying the fees on the web.
    5. Minimum 4 participants in each team.

The above competitions can be canceled or combined with each other if we receive less than 4 entries in any particular kind of competition.

Your entry is not confirmed till you receive acknowledgement email from Cultural team on above mentioned competition.

We will stop taking all entries for competitions after maximum number that can be handled time wise has reached. So decide and act fast write to us and get a pre-approval on your item to be included in the competition.

Last date to enter without late fees is 09/12/2010.
