The festival of India: Entry Form

If you wish to participate in the Cultural program during the Festival of India, please fill out the following information for each item and email the information to foiculture09@gmail.com or jackmehta201@gmail.com

ANNOUNCEMENT To all the Participants of the Festival of India Cultural Program, First of all thanks to all participants and community for overwhelming response. On the same note, Request for specific time for performance cannot be entertained due to large number of entries. Please understand that the scheduling of items is determined by various factors and our effort is directed at making the overall program diverse and enjoyable. We strongly urge that kids under 6 years of age not be made to perform on this large stage due to safety reasons. Schedule: Schedule will be made available on our website on Thursday Oct 8th Practice: Temple will be available for practice a week before the Festival. To avoid conflict between practice and Pooja Hours, you will need to schedule your time ahead with Anu Chemudupati 804-346-2007 (Home) 804-310-2672 (Cell) cmsrini@yahoo.com - The Festival of India Cultural Team 2009 foiculture09@gmail.com To all the Participants of the Festival of India Cultural Program, GRAND REHEARSAL: Richmond Convention Center stage will be available for rehearsal on Friday, Oct 9th between 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM. In the interest of fairness, groups will be allowed to practice only once on the stage. This will be strictly on a first come first serve basis. Please bring your own music or CD player as the sound system will not be available on Friday. We encourage stage rehearsals only if you need it. Our advice is to rest well for Saturday and use this time only if the participants have to see the stage beforehand. MUSIC: Please bring two cds marked clearly with item name, contact person’s name and song name. Only one track per item per CD is allowed. Do not bring CDs with multiple tracks. CDs will be collected by Sangita Patel @ the Convention center on Friday, Oct 9th between 5 to 8pm. Do not leave the CDs without getting it signed off. CDs may not be returned. Please make arrangements to send CDs with friends if you are unable to drop them on Friday. But we must receive all the CDS by Friday. GUIDELINES FOR THE DAY OF PERFORMANCE All team leaders, choreographers and members are required to report 30 minutes before the scheduled time to cultural team desk near the back stage. There is no exception to this rule. Failure to report thirty minute before scheduled time may make the team lose their spot on both days. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated and will help us all to have an enjoyable weekend together. - The Festival of India Cultural Team 2009 foiculture09@gmail.com GUIDELINES - CULTURAL PROGRAM PARTICIPATION Announcement if you find any trouble submitting the entry form, please call or email Chetan Mehta (804) 536 5093 September 10th 2009 - we will not be entertaining any more new entry of "Jai Ho" song. If you have submited your entry before September 10th you will be allowed to perform the song. We thank you for your interest in participating in Cultural Program at the upcoming Festival of India. Please submit your entries through the Entry Form on the website foiculture09@gmail.com. Participants will be required to be available for performance on both the days of the Festival. The Cultural Team will confirm the receipt of your Entry within the week. Reporting time is half an hour before your scheduled performance. Please notify us on the entry form if you or your group members are scheduled to perform in multiple items. Please refer to Music requirements and CD submission on the entry form. DEADLINE FOR ENTRY SUBMISSION AND/OR CHANGES IS SATURDAY, OCT. 3RD, 09 AND DEADLINE FOR COMPETITION SUBMISSION IS SUNDAY, SEPT, 20TH . NO ENTRIES WILL BE ENTERTAINED AFTER THIS DAY. Any change in your item after the deadline is not guaranteed to be incorporated in the Program. The scheduled performance times will be posted on the website by Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Please be aware that the performance times are approximate and may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Every effort will be made to respect the times allocated to teams.


Two CDs clearly marked w/item & Choreographer's name as registered in the entry form (No audio tapes please) should be delivered to Cultural Program Committee, by Friday, October 9, 2009 by 6 pm at The Richmond Convention Center. Please test your CDs on regular CD players. Computer and MP3 CDs format may not work with the Audio system at the Convention Center. Only one track per CD, per performance PLEASE!!
